Cranksgiving will be held on Sunday, November 17 at the Electric Depot, 1509 Government Street, at 10 a.m. Riders will be given a map with five nearby grocery stores, and a list of items they need to bring back. All items will be donated to the greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.

About the event
Cranksgiving is a food drive to benefit the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. Rather than simply dropping off donations, participants will ride bikes to five nearby grocery stores to collect items and then bring them back for a chance to win prizes! The ride is free to enter, but participants are responsible for purchasing the groceries they collect.
It’s not just about being the fastest rider—it’s about riding smart. Plus, there will be a grand prize for the largest group participating in the ride.
Bike Baton Rouge organized and hosted the first Baton Rouge Cranksgiving in 2015. The starting location was in City Park next to the Baton Rouge Gallery. Bike Baton Rouge is currently in a reorganization phase, so the Downtown East Social Ride stepped in to host the event. Bike Baton Rouge remains a sponsor of this event.
